Question by Baby Concerns: How long can I leave a pampers diaper on for my baby?
He is 6 months old and sleeps thro the night. However he is a light sleeper and so when I change him he wakes up. So whats the maximum time i can leave his diaper on (its only pee and no poop).
Is petroleum jelly ok to put for the night? Thats what I am putting on him regularly.

Certainly don’t wake your baby up to change him! Leave it on until it is soggy or dirty, or, after overnight, change it when he wakes up.

When he’s wet you have to change him. Leaving him with a wet nappy can cause nappy rash, which is unpleasant for bub. Are you changing him after a feed??
He needs to learn to go to sleep on his own. Change him, put him down and leave him to go to sleep. Repeat this if he fusses.

I change my girl before bed and she is okay till morning.
    9pm till 730am

if she wakes during the night, i check to see if it is okay but if she is sleeping i don’t wake her.

It’s your disgretion, personally once he is down for the night i would leave him to sleep

Over night is fine, I never wake him up to change him.
ANd he’s never had a rash. If you are concerned you oculd always put a little barrier, like balmex, desitin, butt paste* my fav. , vaseline…just to be sure.

If it’s wet, you need to change it, the baby can get a number of infections from sitting around in a wet diaper, whether it’s feces or just urine.

If he sleeps through the night don’t change him – let him sleep.

Change him when he wakes in the morning.

I put nappy cream around his bottom and penis before bed then I don’t change him until the morning. His skin is always fine but I change him regularly throughout the day.

Change him just before bedtime. Diapers are pretty absorbant, so you should be fine to leave him sleep through the night and change him when he gets up in the morning :)

My son gets a new diaper right before I lay him down at night around 7pm and he’ll sleep sometimes as late as 730am. I don’t change him in the middle of the night unless he poops.

You can leave him all night with a wet diaper. Especially if its Pampers. They absorb very well. Just rub some vaseline on his diaper area so that the wetness doesnt touch his skin. And if he wakes up on his own at any time, change his diaper first thing.

No sense waking him up to change it.

Leave it on over night, til he wakes up the next morning. As much as you are tempted to change him, DON’T! It is ok. Before he goes to bed at night try putting a coat of vaseline on his bottom.

I would never wake my daughter up to change her diaper and she sleeps 8 hours or more I always put desitin on her before bed so over night it doesn’t irritate her.
